Hi there I am in Australia and have purchased an F100 that nobody seams to know what year it is including Vic Roads I have chassis No (FD3003S). If anyone can help me find out what year and model this is it would be very much appreciated.

Can you post some pictures? No padding on the dash I would guess 1966 or older.

Check out the photo gallery at the top of the page. Compare the front grill from different years. Look in the 1961-1966 forumand post you question there..

I've posted pic's with only 7 posts nothing has been said yet. I don't really see a pic as an attachment.

Welcome to FTE

Australian VIN's are totally different than US VIN's.

All 1961/80 US truck VIN's are 11 digits long: 1965 example: F10DR639123.

Beginning in 1981, the VIN is 17 digits long.

FTE has an Australian Chapter, you might post a thread inre to your VIN question there.

Hi ND, the above post is interesting in that my truck that I am trying to re rego in NZ has the chassis F10JR370056 on the chassis by the battery box with a number FT20115 on the chassis in front of the firewall. The front clip looks like a Chev, cheers Bernie

Photos of the truck would be very useful.

Without a door code we cannot tell you much.

F10 is normally associated with F-100 2WD.

A 5th letter "R" is associated with San Jose, CA plant, but you said the truck is foreign?
Like I said, we don't have much information to work with unless someone can decode a vin off of an Australian / NZ pickup.

This is a US VIN

F10 = F100 2WD

J = 223 1V I-6.

R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant.

370056 = 1963, assembled January 1963.

1963/79: Warranty Plate located on the left door face below the latch.
