Anyone have one? If so, how is the quality on it? It looks perfect for garden tractor and ATV tires.

Sure wish there was one of those stores here.
That is a steal.
We have a permanent one like that, but its for bigger tires..
Like our vehicles and drag cars.
I sure hate doing our ATV tires and lawnmowers with screw drivers

All,
How many tires do you change a week?
Is a specific tool for changing tires realy required?
Consider this,
If you have an old bumper jack and an old truck, I've got your answer.
Place the deflated tire under the bumper of your old truck.
Put the bumper jack on the tire bead and jack the truck up.
The black square plate will debead the tire. You may have to try two or three spots to get it all the way off the bead.
A couple of tire tools will do the rest.
I've literally done hundreds this way and could type for hours telling you all the little tricks, but learning is half the fun.

Hey.
For that price its WELL worth it
Ive changed tires like you have... only we used a car trailer with one of our race cars on it. Took maybe 10 mins. With a tire tool that we bought (permanent in cement) like the portable one but permanent it takes 1/2 the time and way less headache.

Portable Mini Tire Changer

Ugg, came into this thread a little late. I bought one of those tire changers from northern tool. It did not work. I tried to use it on a tire off of my Banshee and it just plain didn't work. I could not break the bead on the tire. It also would not work on some of my atv wheels because the hub was to large so it dropped right over the changer. I even bent the rod in the center. I took it back and they gave me my money back. luckely.

It would work on wheel barrow tires or golf cart tires but thats about it......

I've been looking for an old hand operated tire changer for a long time. Haven't had any luck so far but I've kinda been looking at the one from Harbor Freight. It says it'll work for 8" up to light truck wheels and right now it's on sale for $34.99. The sale lasts until 3/10 so I might have to spring for it.

I'm going broke saving money.

Guys, check out the difference in the Northern Tool and Harbor freight units. They are probably the same...

The mini at Harbor Freight is, probably, the same but the one on sale is a larger one. It's a major cheapie item but it might be worth a look.

The mini looks like it would be good for lawnmower tires maybe, but I've never had much trouble with them. I have used a larger model for pick-up tires and they work great. Only takes about a minute to peel a tire off the rim. We have a slide hammer for breaking down the beads then a few tire irons and it works good for the few tires we change, maybe one a month except during summer then it's more. We use to try the handyman jack trick but it doesn't always work. We've jacked up pick-ups and the beads didn't give. It's also a little dangerous if the jack slips off the tire As for atv tires, never had much luck with them and always take them to the dealer.
