Last Friday my wifes 2010 Exp Limited was damages from golf ball size hail. The truck only has 500 miles on it. The good news is the Ford dealer can fix it without painting it for $2,000. The hood has about 35 hits and the roof, I can't count them all. Two blocks from where we live had baseball size hail that took out windows in several hundred cars. Here's a picture, however it doesn't show the damage very good.
I have to be honest. .. being a body work guy. . .getting hail damage out is no slam dunk. . . and the darker the color the harder it is. Some of those are really deep too; I would be surprised if they can pop them out successfully.
I have nothing but confidence in the dent poppers around these parts of Texas. We get a ton of hail around here - my 99 Expy got slammed by baseball sized hail in 2003, and when it came back it looked great. I had one dent right on the most curved part of the hood that could not be popped out because of it's depth. Insurance paid for a new hood, but I just had it dent popped and put on a bug deflector which covered the dent. My `99's hood was aluminum, I assume our `08 is too. Much more susceptible to hail damage...

Forgot to mention that my `99 Expy was dark blue too. Eddie - is your experience with darker colors that they show sheet metal imperfections more easily? I hadn't thought about that, but it makes a lot of sense!

Totally, and if you have a lot of flake that can get interesting too as it reflects light differently.
Picked up the Expy on Friday and the dealer was able to get all the dents out without doing any paint work. It's unbelievable how they got all the dents out, without the slightest trace of any dents.
