how do i know if my tuck has a keyless entry?

I just had to deal with this and got a new key fob last week. Got it all programmed and it works great. The module is directly behind the little inset in the dash to the lower right of the steering column. You know, it looks like a place you might put keys or change right next to where your right knee would be. If you remove the lower trim panel there, it says that it's the keyless entry module or something to that effect (I don't believe that you can read it while the lower trim is in place). That is where it is in my truck and I have a 95. The plug that your looking for that has the wires you need to jump for programming is taped to the harness underneath the module and I believe that it is a gray plug.
The sequence for programming the remote is:
1. Turn the key to the on position.
2. Use a jumper to short the two wires in the connector under the dash (the grey two wire connector) and the locks will cycle from locked to unlocked, to let you know that it's in program mode.
3. Press any key on the key fob that you want to program. The locks will cycle from locked to unlocked again to confirm that the remote has been programmed.
4. Repeat step 3 for any additional remote that you want to program with it (I believe that the system can support up to 4 key fob's).
5. Remove the jumper wire and turn the ignition off. The locks will cycle to locked and then to unlocked to confirm that your exiting programming mode.
Note: If you add or remove key fob's from the truck, you have to program all of them again each time you program the module.
I'm not sure about getting one from the junk yard but i've heard it works and is plug and play as long as you have the correct harness in the truck. I also have the blinking theft light on the dash and believe that this is part of the system. I'll try to take some pictures today if anyone needs them in a little bit. I did quite a bit of research on this a while back and hope that this helps everyone out.
Here is a link to the key fob that I purchased. 1993 1994 1995 94 95 FORD EXPLORER KEYLESS KEY REMOTE: eBay Motors (item 230469850703 end time May-07-10 11:47:38 PDT) I believe that any one around this year from a Ford Truck will work as long as it has the same FCC ID and it's the 3 button layout (you don't need the 4 button because you don't have a trunk).

You are correct.

It should be black but might be blueish looking from under the dash. Probably 4" x 4" x 6" or so with 3 connectors on the bottom, and a small 2 wire connector taped to the harness somewhere near it.

This is a view of it from the bottom on my truck. The blue box is directly behind the RKE module. The plugs insert into the bottom of the unit and the view is with the camera pointing straight up. I didn't take any measurements of the physical but probably can in a bit. Hope this helps a bit.

ok...with that picture, i am unsure now...like i said mine is a box that is about robbins egg blue in color. when i took a second look at it i noticed that it has 2 connectors that i can see, and they are comming out the side of the box in question. there is another black box behind it closer to the firewall, which has one connector going into it.

I just bought an aftermarket remote keyless entry on the 'bay, thinking it would be an easy plug-n-play. But I recently found out that Ford uses reverse polarity power locks so I'll have to get and wire in a couple of relays. Makes things a little more complicated but not impossible. Just keep this in mind if you go the aftermarket route. Mine's a '93.

93-95 Taurus uses the same module, I snagged the module and about 6.5' of the harness for $10 at the junkyard. About 30 wires to splice though!
