Question Crew Cab Rear Speaker Removal

Before I replace the factory speakers on my 2003 F250 Crew cab I thought if someone had already done it they could share some info. My Haynes manual has no info for the rear speakers, located near the C-pillar, not in the rear door. Both this site and the Haynes manual cover the front speaker removal.

It looks like all I need to do is remove the door sill trim and the vinyl trim covering the C-pillar. The trim is held on by plastic "christmas tree" fastners right? The seat belt tensioner will not allow for the complete removal of the trim but I think I can get to the speaker. Don't want to break any trim pieces. Thanks in advance for any info/guidance.

This swap is not that hard, jusging from the date of this post, I assume you have already performed the swap, but I just thought I would add a little inisght. you were correct in the disassembly of the trim, but be very careful when reassembleing the trim. I broke more fasteners by putting the trim back on than taking the trim off. make sure you fastener is completely lined up with the hole.

Good Luck

Yeah it is done. The only unusual tool you need is a #47 Torx head to remove the seat belt pulley. The vinyl trim is a bit of a PITA to put back on. The infinity kappa 572.5 are a BIG improvement. Got them off E-Bay for way less than any shop around here. Then I put in an Alpine 7893 HU with the 10 ga power cable and now it sounds much better than stock! Can't believe they put such a weak system in a 35K truck, but I guess thats all the average consumer wants.

Better Late than never

Hey guys, looks like I'm about 10 years late on this project. I was wondering if I have to remove the seatbelt to get the speaker out. I'm going to be doing this project a morning before work, so I want to make sure I have enough time. Any advice is appriciated
