My Road trip

So I decided to take the '56 on a road trip.....from Bastrop, Tx to Peru, In to visit my Bro. Yep.....I was nervous....never had it that far.....2300 miles round trip. Made it there and back with only one issue.....the freaking wipers didn't work due to a clip falling off. Nuttin' a little RainX can't take care of. Anyhoo.....what a blast.... 75 mph all the way....lots of looks , comments, and , best of all,,,,,no traffic tickets !!
I'm tired.

That's a great truck! I'll look for you when I
make it over to Bastrop - We are up in Austin.
Who did you source your Mustang II kit from - if you don't mind me asking?

Sam: tranny 700r4 / Rear 9" 350:1 gear. ....so 75 mph was around 2300 or so rpm....just right.
Ben: MII came from CPP ,,,so it's a TCI.

Brad, Glad you made it OK. It's a great feeling when everything works. My 49 runs out the same as yours with the same drivetrain. Keep on Truckin!

Nice truck. On numerous occasions, I've thought about painting mine the same color, but I bought the red paint, so now I'm locked in.

Sam, Don, & Brad - Nice to see a strong Central Texas presence on FTE. You guys are way ahead of Zack & I - We just purchased our 1950 F1 two weeks ago. We are in North Austin as well - 183 & Anderson Mill. It runs - its that stopping & steering that presents challenges.

Sweet trip! The wife and I took a 2000 mile trip last summer, but we were with 3 other old cars. It's nice to know your not alone if you break down.
