T-19 Input Shaft Bearing

How do you replace it?

I'm not going to hijack your thread. Sounds easy enough. I thought it was way more involved than that. Is there a seal there too? Could the tranny leak oil because of this issue?

A bad input bearing will cause a leak, and a gear howl that mostly goes away in 4th, and quiets on engine braking in the other gears.
This is my 460, but, you can hear quite well what I'm talking about:

All that was wrong with that trans was the input bearing when I finally popped it apart this spring... I drove it 8 years like that.

The seal is inside that 4-bolt cone that you remove. It's in the skinny part of the cone and stays put when you pull the whole cone. Then there is a gasket where the cone bolts to the transmission, so that the cone and bearing are all part of the oil system.

Really easy.
