Code reader

My 2001 F350 Diesel Dually is having lots of electrical problems I'm going to buy a code reader to help me figure out what's going on with it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what type to get. Thanks

This is what I use and it does a lot more than just read codes.

electrical issues

The two biggest issues I have now are 1) the ABS light comes on and then the speedo, signal lights and heater control don't work. ( I have already changed the speed sensor) 2) My electric windows quit working so now the truck won't pass inspection. I have power at the big breaker out under the hood, but no power at fuse #7 under the dash. Thanks

A code reader will not help you for a lot of this,

So, can you read electrical prints?

Where are you located?

Have you had your windshield replaced?

I have read schematics before but not for this particular truck. I live in Wytheville Va.

Have you had the windshield replaced?

And if you would like, PM me your e mail address, I can send a group of prints off to you. I still have not posted a PDF to this site.

Thanks for helping me. I haven't had the windshield replaced. Why do you ask. If PM stands for private message, I don't know how to send one.

Some here have ran into water leaking down into the fuse panel after the windshield has been replaced.

Click on my name, there should be a drop down, one of the options will be send a pm.

Like I said, I do not know how to attach a PD file to the forum, so dont feel bad about not knowing where the PM is.
