460 Compression Ratio
#16
Thanks for the replies guys, keep them coming.
The cam that came in the kit is a Melling SYB-19 SPECS HERE (P. 140)
I don't know how to figure dynamic C/R, I c.c. with a head bolted on, one piston at TDC, the adjacent cylinder at BDC.
Block is at the machine shop.
Probably being pushed to the back as racing season is spooling up.

Hmmm, I'm fixin to build a 460 for this same purpose...however I do have a nice set of C9 heads to go on it. My engine is from an '85 Ford van. The pistons have dishes in them big enough to take a bath in. I also have a nice rebuilt set of D3 heads as well. I can't decide which heads would be the better choice....should I go with flat top pistons and the D3 heads or should I go with a slightly shallower dished piston than the stockers and use the C9 heads....anyone care to comment on this?
