E-Fan city fuel mileage #s
I don't have any solid HW miles and I probably won't for a while. I'm taking a 2600 mi trip from CT to NV soon, but I'll have the 4 wheeler in the back (350lbs.)
Here is my mileage since I did the E-Fan conversion. I clocked most of my fill ups. Truck is bone stock a 1995 F150 XLT 2wd extended cab, 4R70W, 5.0L except for a Flowmaster muffler. Tires are Toyo Open Country AT's at stock size. E3 Diamond Fire plugs, Mobil 1 oil and filter, regularly serviced transmission, MSD Cap and Rotor and the timing is advanced to around 18*. This truck has also been Seafoamed regularly since I bought it roughly four years ago. I also count the fuel fills to when the handle clicks off the first time; not topped off completely. City driving is a LOT of hills and stop and go. Average is about 5 lights per mile. I mainly drive from Bristol CT to West Hartford CT = ~25 miles one way and ~50mi a day. I fuel up around 2-4x a week = ~$350/mo using 87 octane Citgo fuel. The little HW driving I DID do, I DEFINITELY noticed that you don't have to keep your foot in it as much to stay at 65-70mph.
When I first did the install, I hit the on-ramp on the highway and opened it up. Before I knew, I was doing 75 by the end of the HW On Ramp! I was getting 23mpg on average on the HW BEFORE the swap. No idea how it will do now. I am not attributing the fuel mileage to the E-Fan swap, but the fan definitely helps. The truck just feels lighter.
City Tanks
166mi @ 10.5 gal = 15 mpg
147mi @ 11 gal = 13.3 mpg
175.2mi @ 12.35 gal = 14 mpg
191.8mi @ 13.5 gal = 14.2mpg
167.2mi @ 11.62 gal = 14.39 mpg
Mixed tanks (mostly city and some HW)
206.7mi @ 13.04 gal = 15.85
216mi @ 13.4gal = 16.1mpg
Average the averages
CITY = 70.89/5 = 14.17 mpg CITY! TLC PAYS OFF!
MIXED TANKS = 31.95/2 = 15.97

I think 19mpg was the best I ever did. 17 is about the norm for highway driving in my truck, although with as many miles as it has now, it's more like 15-16 city/highway/whatever. My dad does get over 20mpg with his 300 six on the highway, though, so I'm not going to say it's impossible, but to average that high with a 302 is pretty amazing.
