Is this one for body parts?

Nope. The factory brush guard was similar to that of the one sold by LMC. It also features Ford in block letters on the top bar.

Actually ive been doing alot of 4x4ing (mudding) lately. And i feel bad taking my f350 out there and wearing it out..So im going to make this f150 the off roading unit to keep myself from destroying my nice one.

Plus Ive never worked on or had a 300 so I'm looking forward to seeing what they are capable of.

I suggest a 4BBL intake with either a Holley 390 or an Edelbrock 500, and EFI manifolds.
Those mods will really wake up that old 300. any other questions about the 300 go here

FORDSIX PERFORMANCE • View forum - 240-300 "Big Block" Six Performance

or here Ford Inline Six, 200, 250, 4.9L / 300 - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums both sites have lots of great info on the good ole 300's.

Some may not like this decision.. but i had some bad paint chips from my 4x4 evenings showing red through the paint... I sanded and rocker guarded. I think it looks better then before, almost a 2 tone.

Ranger, what type and brand of rocker guard is that? I'm thinking about doing that to my truck after I paint it. I've seen some that is like a clear tape, some that can be painted over, and some that is black and can't be painted over. My truck will be painted black (original color). I would like to put something on it that keeps the original color, but with the rocker guard protection. Many of the newer vehicle use a clear type that shows the paint color through.

Ranger, love the truck, I've followed your thread for awhile now. You may have mentioned it at some point but after a quick scan through past posts I wasn't able to find it. What headers are you running? I'm looking for some for my 81 F350 400.

Thanks and keep it up!

I am using the black paintable kind.. so far so good.. but make sure you put it on thick!.. I used two large aerosol cans for my truck.. but i would have gone thicker now that i think back.

I use the black non paintable kind that stays flexible underneath the cab and in my wheel wells and stuff.

I used :

Hedman 89330 Hedman Hedders Standard-Duty Uncoated Headers

My only complaint is the black finish they have on them is pretty crappy. I dont even think its header paint. You may consider the nickel coated ones or refinishing them.
