Junk yard traviling from FL to Kansas need help

I want to take a tour of Pre war salvage yards that specialize in 1920's to 30's Ford Trucks and Cars. I will be traving with my dad from Jacksonville FL to Kansas. I found a couple of weeks ago a salvage yard in Kansas that specialized in Model A's but have not been able to find it again. Please help me I am hoping to find a truck or car that I can purchase during this trip so If anone knows of good salvage yards somewhat along the way please post. I will also be going to Old Car City in White GA. Thanks for any help.

I see you've also posted your question on the HAMB. You'll want to stop at Easy Jack's in Junction City, Ks. It's just west of Manhattan. It's right on I-70 at about mile marker 290, 291 or so. There are cheap old signs as you get near it so watch along the road. If you miss it the phone number is 1 (785) 238-7161. You'll find a treasure trove of teens and twenties era iron as well as stuff up into the '60s. What you won't find are bargains. Jack and his son are business men that know what they've got. Look at this HAMB thread that includes pics of the place. Stu

The only thing sad about having a yard like that is once the 1st & 2nd generation pass away; the third will crush all the fine parts and vehicles.

Personal experience; most of the good stuff is not in commercial lots, they've been picked pretty clean. How far west in KS are you going? Southwest KS is where it starts to get good, nice dry weather there. OK and the panhandle too. There are lots of old cars and trucks just laying around here and there, on people's farms and in old public dumps, but you'll burn up a buttload of gas to find them. They aren't along main roads.

Model A's have been valuable for a long time, I wouldn't expect to see many of them. What specifically are you looking for?

Old car city is a tourist destination? I live a bout 15 miles from it and drive by it several times a year. Looking at it from the road has not made me want to venture inside. Let me know if it's worth a look.
