Main cabin air blower not working

Hey guys, the main cabin blower just went out in the Explorer yesterday. When I have the selector switch set to MAX A/C or A/C or the standard 'air from the outside', the blower wont send air out of the main cabin vents, it is being redirected to the windshield defroster vents. The A/C and heat work, the air just gets blown out of the defroster vents, you know the ones on the dash closest to the windshield. The main cabin air vents for some reason dont want to blow air. Any ideas? Thanks guys, you always come through for me.

Found out what it was....... a cracked vaccuum hose. Anyone know where I can find a replacement? I found through various web sites to look for the black plastic "ball" about 4 inches around with small hard plastic hoses coming from it. Well, I found it and the 2 really tiny black hard plastic hoses coming from it. I traced one back and found it to be really brittle. It cracked as I was looking at it. I messed with it a little bit and got the air to come back to the main vents. When I turned the truck on, it felt like a vaccuum cleaner with the air being sucked in. I figured ah hah! Problem solved. The crack wouldn't let it completely seal for a good line. I super glued and taped it but I don't think it will last long though and I will need to replace it. I need the section that comes from the black plastic "ball" vaccuum resovoir and goes to the first connection. Its about 3 feet long, maybe 2 feet. Anyone know where I can find one and even what its called? Thanks guys!

If there is enough of a nub at the black plastic ball you can use a piece of vacuum hose to splice over the cracked portion. You might use a bit of trim cement or similar to ensure the hose stays in place.

The hard plastic hose is fords ( new/better idea ), just like using pot metal in the shift lever connection to the shifter, the vacume line is not under that much suction so it will work just fine. Not the best of location to work in. Good luck

You have to get under the truck, passenger side, through the wheel well, directly behind/under the air filter box
