pretty sure the V10 cant be backed up with the new 6-speed, but not certain.

Are you getting the Service Body at BSI?

Very cool! Are you going to paint it blue? Maybe I'll see it up on the slope...

You wouldn't happen to be in sales? I just bought an '01 F250 (with a service body) and need to hang a plow on it sometime this summer. I haven't really started looking around too hard yet, just casually stopped by Custom Truck and Trailer Craft the other day. One of these days I need to stop by your place.

naw, not in sales i work in the back welding,wiring..ect on the trucks. but our sales guys are very helpful.

nope shes getting painted white same as the truck. i allready painted the front of the bed, the rest we send out to the body shop. we're waiting on the other 2 identical trucks.

i have to say i love boss plows. i've owned one since new(2001) and its been absolutly trouble free. after looking at/running western,myer..ect i think boss's are built better and hold up..i've ran a myer and that was a nighmare every time you went to use it. plus they are easy to work on.

i'm not sure if these are BP or not, i'll ask on wed. we do have a few BP expeditions in right now for cold weather pkgs.

The F450/550 cab chassis trucks came with 4.88's standard since 99. My 94 Super Duty came with 5.13's! No 6 speeds with the V10's. I can't wait to see the C/C V10 replacement. It will probably be a 7 liter with the 6 speed.

I'm waiting to replace my flatbed until they announce what replaces the V10, then I'll decide what to buy, a V10 or it's replacement.

What are door straps? Do they limit the door travel to prevent the wind from ripping them off? Thanks for the cool post I always enjoy work truck picks.

Are some of the companies moving away from the diesel trucks due to repair and maint. or are they using gas powered trucks for light haul/utility work and leaving the diesels to tow the gooseneck trailers?

It's repair and maint issue. My dad is a fleet manager for a Ford truck dealer. He was contacted by a large company that wanted to buy 1000 V10 powered F650s. Their reasoning was that many of their drivers are too abusive on the new high tech diesels and repairs are way too expensive. After discussing the issue with Ford, even given a 1000 truck order, Ford decided not to build them.

Ford turned down an order for 1000 trucks, just becuase they did not want to put the V10 in the F650?

Makes sense to me.

Makes sense to me too! I had to replace my 09 V10's battery today. It was 16 months old, that was the first issue with the truck. My 05 6.0 diesel batteries lasted only about 8 months, on the first set (about the same on the 3 other sets too) So one battery vs. 4 in about the same time. It's saving money already!
