Glow Plug repair

1996 F-250 power stroke 7.3 diesel

I would like to know if you can test the glow plug continutity through the valve cover gasket.

What is the color code of the glow plug wires and the injector wires?

To test the continutity of the glowplugs carefuly remove the conectors from the valve covers (DONT BREAK OFF CLIPS)They lossen up and get hot.

Use A continutity tester on the two outside pins at each connector. I hope this helps.PS if you do break off clips replace the connector, Iv'e replaced two valve cover gaskets and two inside wiring harnesses ABOUT $120 when A $30 conector kit and 20 minutes would have kept them from burning up.
