Exclamation PLANNING G T G FOR TEXAS

I checked the time frame to elect a new leader and figured about May 13th, we should know for sure. So I am going to see how many people would like to try and do a GTG for around May 15th. Of course it might not be a bad idea for everyone to check the map and possible get destinations for where to meet. Centrally for everyone may be best.
Give your thoughs and opinions here. Would you like to make it later or earlier? A big a$$ camp out somewhere.(u know darn well some of us may not be able to drive back home after a while) FAmily and kids welcome. Food suggestions. We can use this to start it out right. please post your thoughts and opinions.

I would love to do a g2g. I will have to wait till it gets closer to see when I can get out. I think somwhere on a lake for the weekend would be awesome. We can do some cooking on the grill a little fun on the water during the day and a lot of fishing.

Greetings everyone - I agree that a GTG would be great. I was one of the original founders of the Excursion Diversion in Gatlinburg, TN back in 08 and continued supporting it last year. Unfortunatly, since we moved to Del Rio and the event moved to IN, we can't make it this year.

I don't have the free time to put forth a lot time in help orgainzing one, but I'll be happy to do what I can. Events like this can be tons of fun and we really enjoy them.

any more ideas, gotten a few but would like to know some schedules, any time after mid May, then we toast our new leader with some cold A$$ brews, or water if you don't drink.

Subscribing to see what everyone comes up with. Don't know if I can make it, but I'll at least pay attention here.

Neither can I...if it were still in Gatlinburg, I would've considered the drive, but Indiana is just a little out of my reach.

I totally agree that a Texas GTG is defitely called for...my suggestion: Lake Travis near Austin...it's almost in the middle of things and hopefully not too far away for everyone...

I think you're right Diesel, there should be good camping, fishing, boating, and BEER drinking there(not in that order) HA HA. But it looks like the most central location with the most amenities also.
I'm for it.

I went to Bocktober fest one year in Shiner, the year the guadelupe stretched six mile wide when it rained so much. and they were serving the Shiner Blonde for three dollars for an 6 oz dixie cup. I didn't care for it. I would have to rate it as a CUP-O-PEE.(and no, I don't know what that would taste like)

Pace Bend Park Campground, a Texas Campground Review

What do ya'll think about this place. I was having a hard time finding a place that had everything to do. Does anyone know of another suggestion?
