Glad you came to your senses!

Since the flathead is done this would be a great time to think about something a little more modern with more horsepower...a 302/351 conversion perhaps?

Wow! Great news Bob...

...um.....er.....I mean about keeping the truck, not about the chunk missing from the piston.

Glad you found a way to make it work

Sorry about that man, the thought of selling my 56 or my street rod either for that matter, kind of makes me ill. I am hoping to leave them to my son. Good luck whatever you do.

Update, I may have a swap on a non-ford engine . The dog house is disconnected only took about 2 hours and that was with me swapping in a different TV in the garage... Although I was cursing at it in the beginning undercoating/tar is great... no rusted or broken bolts... now I just need someone to help me pull it off and put it on the other side of the garage. 2 hrs to pop out the tranny and another hour for the engine.

then the real work will begin ETA... fall? sooner with a ford engine.

Now is a terrible time to sell, but a great time to buy. Keep the truck for a while and see if the economy picks up. In the time being, by a Honda Accord with 150K miles for $1,500. It'll also make a good first car for that teenager if she pays for 1/2 of it! Good luck, Jag

1500 for a rice rod ?????? no way ! just do a little shopping around . i've told it a few times now but my 95 4.6 v8 powered tbird cost me 200 bucks . i have now maybe 1300 in it in a year and a half . it's been all over the dain map , gets 20-24 mpg in town if i drive with sense , and has now twice in the last month went dain near 34 mpg on the road . it's american , and yeah , yeah yer furrin junk is built here too , but the ford is still owned by an american co . , it's dependable , it gets good mileage , it's a v8 , and it cost a third or less of a honda !!!!!!!!!!!! i'm looking at a few more of them for some other peeps now .... could have gotten you a sweetheart of a 95 mark 8 last week , blue , gray leather , all the options , 4 valve 4.6 , for the same price of 1500 ............ a lot classier ride too boot !!! just look around and shop wisely . you may have to make a repair or two but in the long run it'll pay for itself ...........
