your bolt pattern now is 8x165 any rims up to 97 will work, they switched to 8x170 in 99

not a bad idea but with adapters you generally are going to make the tires stick out farther me personally I would just find a nice set of 8x165s they have some bad azz ones on ebay for reasonable

The bolt pattern is also known as 8 on 6.5" which is how most of the aftermarket wheels will be listed. IMHO adapters to go to the newer metric bolt pattern are just a waste of money, plenty of nice aftermarket wheels out there with the correct for you bolt pattern...

I don't recommend using adapters on any vehicle. They are a weak point. Look for 97 and older wheels. You should consider the factory aluminum wheels. Those are the best looking wheels in my opinion.

Uhm, you are aware that both Ford an Dodge have been using adapters for years to make their SRW front axles run dually wheels, right?

That may be, but there is a difference between that and the china made aluminum crap that most people are talking about. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them. Also if the tires stick out more it will adversely effect handling.

How so? In my head I would think a wider base would increase your stability. It wouldn't change any of the steering angles either.
