Unidentified plug

93 5.8 out of a F-150 into my 93 F-250
There is a plug that is in the same part of the loom that goes to the A/C compressor, there is green with an orange stripe wire, and a black with a yellow stripe wire. The plug is kind of roundish, black with kind of grey rectangle end where the wires go into the plug.
My repair manual doesn't show it and there is nothing on the engine that I see for it to plug into.
Any ideas what it goes to?

What engine was in the F-250 before you dropped the 5.8 in? If it was a 5.0 then my guess is the power steering pressure switch.

How about an A/C low pressure switch?

It had the 5.8 in it aswell. There was nothing on this engine either for it too plug into.
I can see the brass conectors inside the plug and they are shiny, so I guess it was plugged into something before, or else they would be dull and dirty looking.

A pic of the plug and where it is exactly would help a lot.

I will have to wait to get my truck back from the shop. I can tell you that it is about 5" from the A/C compressor plug. The wires pig tails out and it is about 5" long to the plug.

I'm with ya, I've got two plugs on the right side (facing the engine) by where a compressor or something should be. I haven't really researched it yet but this got me thinking about it. I don't know the colors of my two offhand, but one is round and the other is somewhat rectangular-shaped.

Not to go off topic, but if a truck (96 351W) didn't come with air, would the plug for the compressor still be there dangling? I wonder what the other plug is for...

My plug is on the driver side of the engine, I don't know on your 96 though.

Are you sure that engine wasn't out of a '94? In the shop manuals wiring diagrams, the '94 was the first year to include a High Pressure cut off switch in the outlet line from the compressor. This might have something to do with the change to the R134 Freon in '94. Your wires match the diagram.
The switch addition was the only change to the wiring, so you could simply cut the plug off and join the wires together to make your AC work.

When I added AC to my '88, I used everything for a '94, so the switch was included.

It was advertized as a 93. but there were quite a few differences between my 93 engine and that 93 engine. So maybe it could be a 94.

Have you guys had a look at my other post titled 93 5.8 stalling? It seems you know what you're talking about, so maybe you can answer that too, Please.

When I get up in the morning for work tomorrow, ill go out to my truck and look at the AC compressor, its a 94 F250 with a 5.8, so ill see what kind of connections I have under there. Maybe I will be able to give you a little insight on it.
