Brought home a 99 PSD. What to do with old 92 7.3?

So as the title implies I bought a new to me 99 PSD. I have an old 92 7.3 that is getting tired. What would you do with it? Sell it for 500-800 or whatever I could get out of it (still starts (hard-ish), and runs good). Or strip some of the compatible parts off from it and haul the body to the recyclers?

On that thought, what are some swap-able parts of value? Alternator? Starter? etc, etc, etc. If I go this route should I have the engine compression tested and save the motor?

Thanks, Kelpy

I don't think anything will swap over. The only thing same between the 7.3 IDI and the 7.3 PSD is the liters. Totally different engine.

Really? I for some reason thought they were the same engine minus the turbo and heads/injectors.

Shows my lack of knowledge on the subject of trucks!

Do you already have a spare (back up) vehicle?

Indeed. I now have:

99 PSD
2000 F150 (comfortable ride and starts well in the neg winter temps)
2003 Toyota Tacoma (commuter)

No need for another diesel costing insurance and registration. It's nice that the retail market here is so low for older vehicles. Easy to pick up a cheaper oldish truck. On the flip side it's nearly impossible to get rid of a old one. . .
