San Diego Area: Any one have a good Ford Diesel mech. buddy?

I'm looking for a good, reliable Ford diesel mechanic... to possibly do a side-job on a 6.0 turbo (cleaning), or at minimum... removal, and inspection.

I'm unemployed, so "side job" is stressed at this point.

Any help is appreciated. TIA!

I don't have any experience with the 6.0, but was in a similar position needing to do a bunch of work on my 7.3. Turns out, having time on my hands being between work gave me time to do all the work myself and find great deals on parts. Took a little longer to do... but having more time than $ turned out to be a fairly enjoyable experience. Helps that I've got a garage though - dunno what I'd have done if I still lived in an apt. with a parking space.

Good luck getting your truck sorted out.

Thanks for the encouragement...

However, I really don't have too much time to "learn" about turbos, or what I'm getting into... let alone, "getting into it" just yet. I'm going to try the dealer (again), or another for the 'under warranty' approach first before I tear into it.

.... I'm still looking for that mechanic if any leads arise. Thanks.

Hey JAT, I'm curious on how satisfied you ended up being with ECF. I have an airbag problem that's way out of warranty I need repaired. Not messing with airbag system myself.

Thank you,

Chris in Spring Valley

Sorry for the late response Chris... Just came back to look at this thread, and noticed your question.

I LOVED their service. They went above and beyond (from KMP-Ford's attempt). Great guys in the 'service' drive, with loads of customer support.

I just had to call them, as I'm experiencing another "no start" issue... and they again, were very helpfull.

Thank you sir. I still haven't had the airbags repaired. I'll stop in and see them.
