I have a 1988 F-250 4x4 and the slave cylinder seems to be out. I push in on the clutch peddle and I cannot get the trans into gear..... just grinds a lot.

The sticker on the door post says, trans = "Z" and the axles = "C9" I'm not sure what a "Z" trans is or where to look up that info.

What I do know is that the transfer case is connected to the trans and the slave cylinder is internal not external

Anybody know what a "Z" trans is? Or what axle a "C9" is??

OR,

where I can get the info needed to replace the internal clutch slave cylinder in a 1988 F-250 with a 5.? gas engine.......

You will have to remove the transmission. The slave cylinder and throwout bearing are integrated and bolt to the transmission case around the input shaft. I replaced my TO assembly a few months ago because it was leaking and I got the new one on eBay for about $45.
