CSIPSD,

Where'd that turbo come from? What's it got the 38R doesn't? Is that why your truck always whistled so loud in your videos? Is it louder than the 38R?
Depends on what video your watching... I have run about 15 differant turbos on my truck.

stock, stock with ATS, stock with ATS and WW, stock with WW, stock with WW and ATS and a 1.00 housing, Stock with all that and a 1.15 housing, 38r, 38r with 1.15 housing, 38r with a .84 housing, TN JB, TN JB with a 1.00 housing, TN BB, TN BB with a 1.00 housing, TN BB with a 1.15 housing...

H2e is just the latest turbo. and the best by far.

Im going to be building a compound setup for my truck because I dont like to wait for boost, and the 38r seems to spool nicely. You basically get to keep everything you have now, only add way more air with the big turbo, or procharger.
I have already decided I am going with the procharger setup. I think that is the best combination for my needs/uses. I talked with Empire and they said the 7.3 install is extremely easy, no extra exhaust plumbing, keep my current 38r, Does wonders for EGT's, and There is virtually no lag at all. May not make as much peak HP as a twin turbo setup, but this is a daily driver working truck first, race truck second. Plus, from what I have heard these procharged trucks actually pick up a couple MPG's.

Wish I could say more but my hands are tied.

You can have a 700hp work truck, if your dumb enough to drive around towing 20k in a 700 tune, well you get what you get. 350hp is all anyone needs in a truck to pull anything legal for our trucks.

How much HP do you think OTR trucks have???

Good lord some of you guys have a- way to much money or b- like koolaid way too much...
Quite true. If one tries towing in their max power setting then they get what they deserve. However when towing it is not the HP that matters as we know it is the torque. Maybe I am the oddball here but I tow by my EGT gage. I used whatever power setting that kept my EGT's below 1200 for whatever I was hauling.

You bring up a good point about all anyone really needs is 350/700 for towing. Saying my truck made 500 hp and I used it for towing is a bit misleading. I NEVER towed in the max hp setting. Realistically I was much lower then that, probably closer to the 350-400 mark, but never dyno'd the lower TOW settings. That only further strengthens the case for a girdle for a truck that gets heavy towing use, even at "only" 350-400. My motor was still running just fine when I pulled it apart and discovered the stress cracks which I have to believe were from prolonged high torque loads. The rods were fine and the pistons looked great meaning I was not running it too hot. Even the bearings were still in good shape.
