Could have had a serious accident
Coming home from work today and it's been snowing/sleeting/raining all day so it's really slushy out with some ice spots and I have the Bronco in 2wd because most of the roads are fine if you go slow. But i'm a couple car lengths behind a guy and he suddenly slams his brakes on, no turn signal and turns into a neighborhood, I guess he didn't realize he was about to miss the turn. So I have to hit my brakes to avoid hitting him if I go at my constant speed. Well not good! I hit my brakes and fishtail barely missing a guard rail, and I hit a patch of ice. Basically I ended up doing a 180 and end up in a ditch. I put in 4x4 and got on out of there.
I'm just lucky there was no on-coming traffic or anything, or I would have collided with someone.
Moral of the story? Go slow when you drive and don't lolligag on your cellphone or mess with the radio when you should be paying attention!

I am glad you were not hurt, on coming traffic could have really knocked "It" out of you.
Maybe you should increase your following distance a little on bad roads, you never know when some idjit is in front of you.
Side note, that'll also lower the pucker factor and save repairs to all those nickel sized holes in the seat
