Source for factory keyless entry remote?

My '96 EB came with remote keyless entry but I lost the keyring with the fob on it. Does anyone know of an aftermarket source for the remote?

I was at Auto Zone on Saturday, and I seen a ad that said that they could get them. Also, when I lost the keyfob for my 07 Mustang, I got a new one from Ford and they said they could get a replacement for My 93 SHO.

Yeah, I've seen the sign at AutoZone but nothing came up online. Maybe it's something you can only get by asking for in person. I guess I'll have to stop by and put myself at the mercy of the counter guy *shudder*.

I'm only calling the dealer if all else fails.

Ebay is great for some stuff.
I want to install keyless in my '78, and I'd also really like to figure out how to make the rear glass work on the remote, too. How cool would that be?

It would be cool but it makes me cringe to think of adding yet another possible point of failure to the rear window system. You have to go after-market but if you got one that had trunk and remote start buttons you could make one UP and one DOWN. That wouldn't work if you had wanted remote start too but remote start on a carb'd motor might be tricky.

I'm thinking I'd just tie the remote window control into the switch in the dashboard, and run separate 12V directly to the unit, so the remote window would still work with the key in the off position. That's a good idea using a remote start unit. Hmmm.
p.s. Not that I'd want to use the remote start for the motor anyway, but the '78 is no longer carb'd for certain.
