Official NCFTE motorbike club!?

So who rides? What do you ride? Where do you ride? Post up some photos of your bike. Tell us about it.

I know it's not truck related and if this thread is not appropriate then nuke it or let it die.

I'll start:

Currently riding a 1994 Suzuki DR650. Daily rider. Commuter. Trail bike. I've nicknamed her the "Goat". She pulls like a tractor. Great city bike. Nimble, good suspension travel (for hoping curbs and medians ). Currently (who am I kidding) always, looking for new bikes. Got my eyes on a zg1000 for a good two-up sport tourer for the wife and I. Would really like to have a 02 Triumph Trophy 1200 with low miles in good shape. Hard to find.

Here's the Goat:

Nice bike. Started riding in 1971, quit for good in 2007. Figured 36 years riding on the road with no broken bones was pushing my luck. Bikes I've owned:Kawasaki 175, Suzuki 350, Kawasaki KZ 750 twin, and my last, Kawasaki 1500A v-twin. I still miss riding but the last time I renewed my license I dropped the motorcycle endorsement, so I'am done.

Sure that counts Scott. I almost forgot about the little 2 cycle scooter I use as a pit bike at the tracks.

Wow fuzzy, 36 years. That's awesome. And no broken bones.

Heck yeah 50's count. Anything motorized on two wheels. Scooters too.

Went for a quick ride yesterday afternoon after soccer. Looking for powerline access and places to ride off-road. Found a fun little spot to work on skills and such. Too busy riding but did get one photo.

I ride a 2005 yz250f with full asv lever set, pro circuit full system, pro taper bars, etc.
I ride at tracks in yadkinville, east bend, booneville, chester, and charlotte. Im currently not riding right this second though due to a broken back thats still healing (wreck at the track).
That was just after i bought it and for the record that ranger isnt mine this was about a year ago before i got my truck.

Hey Joe, Sorry about your back. Hope you heal up soon. Can't see the photos but know the bike. Lots of nice goodies on there. Great track bike.

Recently I was having electrical issues that I couldn't track down. Stripped the bike down and traced all connections. Looked for shorts and got frustrated with it and finally took it in to a local shop that I trust. Turns out it was a faulty decompression relay/solenoid. Hard to find part that took a week to get.

Going on a group ride this Sunday. A fallen officer memorial ride. Did it last year too. Nice ride with a touching ceremony at the end. Well worth the time. Generally don't go on such rides but this one I make time for.

Ya'll be safe.

Oh, Got my eyes on a 2002 Aprilia RST1000 Futura. Got the "i wants" bad.

Ha! I was seriously riding the twisties of NC and TN until two years ago... had my first crash and had no insurance. Can you say "wake-up call?" I need to get motivated and start riding again. Here's a pic at Shady Valley, TN.

Thanks Tony! Although the GSXR-750 is so easy to ride, I miss the comfort of the FJR-1300... It may be time to trade!

Cool pics Andrew. FJR is a nice bike. So is the Gixxer. Need to get some insurance brother. Pay now or pay later. Either way I reckon.

Here's a photo from this past weekend. I went on a group ride with the Blue Knights LEMC of N.C. An Officer Down Memorial Ride. A ride that benefits the families of officers killed in the line of duty. See if you can find my "hog". Look close it might be hard to spot.

Click the image to open in full size.

I have a ton of photos from the ride. I wrote a ride report on another site but don't want to cross-post sites.

Wicked Endings is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I just bought two 1982 (ish) Yamaha Virago's.

They both have 750 Twin Engines. During the next month or so, i'll be taking them both apart and building one bike.

It's gonna be awesome! I used to race dirt bikes before I moved to NC, so, it's been a while, but it's like riding a bike. (lol) Once you learn, you never forget.

However, dirt bikes and street bikes are quite different..

And... the Virago has a bit more power....

LOL! Some of the best street riders I've ever been with came from dirt bike racing... You sly fox!
