Nice addition to the stable there James. Congrats. Mine has a bad valve stem in the rear tire. I guess I know what I get to do Saturday morning.

Thanks guys. Been awhile since I've owned an inline 4. Crazy smooth and pulls like a freight train.

Hope my little hoglet can keep up with you guys.

Lol......

Mine has been having a random issue where it bogs lately. May end up having to pull the carb and give it a cleaning/rebuild.

Is it starting and idling ok?
Where is it bogging down? As soon as you crack the throttle or somewhere in the upper revs?

Have you checked the fuel filter or tank for debris? Do you have a manual petcock or vacuum assist? Hate for you to have to pull out the carbs if it's just a piece of trash in the filter.

Well it's obviously been awhile since I've changed a tire on a bike. Took me two hours to take the wheel off the bike. Remove the old tire. Install the new one. Then put everything back on. In the past I could usually do it under an hour start to finish. I still have to do the rear this weekend. About an hour into the process I was about to throw a tire spoon into the wall.

It's random, started by happening cruising in 5th, but now will happen in every gear, but it's very random. It'll run great for 30 miles then all of a sudden will bog like it does when I need to go to reserve.

Gonna pull the tank and check the filter this weekend if I get a chance, my petcock is manual, no vacuum to it. Not a 100% what it is, I ran some carb cleaner threw it and gonna run a little more and see if that helps.

Larry, I know this may sound crazy but have you checked your battery cables to make sure they are tight. They can disguise a lot of different problems. Hopefully it will be something simple. Good luck brother.

I haven't, but I will. Plans of pulling the tank got canceled this weekend. Decided no need in pulling the tank to check the filter to decide I need a new one. I got a new filter on the way so plan on doing that this weekend, I will also check the battery cables at that same time.

I pulled the tank yesterday and swapped out fuel filter, I also cleaned the battery connections up. Still ran bad so I was pulling the plugs again and noticed a drip. My thermostat is leaking right down on one of the coil packs. The leak was over the one that had the really bad looking plug when I changed them. So I ordered a new O ring for that gonna pop it apart this weekend and clean it up so I can throw it back together when the new O ring comes in.

Well I fixed the thermostat housing where it was leaking but alot of antifreeze was spilled over the coils and stuff when I pulled it apart so I had to hose it off. Rode the bike about 50 miles this afternoon and it ran real rough at first. The further I went the better it got though, hoping that fixes it but I'm wondering if there isn't a issue with the coils that's letting the moisture in though.

Glad you got it sorted out.

Thinking about painting the kawasaki rims gold. Not bright gold. Like trans am black and gold. And taking off the factory decals.

Maybe a fire chicken on the nose fairing.
