I had mine painted this Jan,Feb. When I dropped it off at the painters it had 27,000 miles looked at it yesterday and it is sitting on 36,522. I ride it every chance I get. I had the chance to ride over to Pilot Mountain last Saturday and then on up to Mt. Airy with 3 other friends and it was a great days ride from this area. I know over the last couple of years James and I have logged some miles together. I don't think there was one time last year we said no to any location for the monthly dinner. I have went from North Wilkesboro to Wilmington in search of the best BBQ in the state. Tipton's had some wicked brisket (Thanks for sugestion Tony.aka (fuzzy). Well time to get back to work. Be good all.

Rode it all last week, rode it today and got wet on the way home. She may set out tomorrow though if it's as bad in the morning as they say.

Circlip that holds the plate on that keeps the pawl gear lined up has flown the coop and is either hiding in the transmission or has been ground up by the gears.

Fork springs are shot. The clunking I thought was a loose motor mount turned out the be the forks bottoming out.

Parts on order. Withdrawal setting in.

Think my next ride will be a muscle cruiser. M109r, Mean Streak, Vrscr, or Warrior. Throw some soft bags on it. A Valkyrie would be sweet too. But stripped down with more of a burley standard look.

Valks with the six shooter exhaust sound pretty good.

Ain't no way I'm paying new bike prices for any bike.

I will have a hard time finding anything I want for a price I'm willing to pay in the muscle bike class. So it will be a long time before one shows up at my place.

I've heard them with both 6 pipes or 2. I liked the 2 drag pipes better, but neither were great.

Another quick cruiser is the Honda magna 750, sure it's "only" a 750 but it's a V4. There is a pile of them for $2000 or so on craigslist.

Wow, what an awesome day Sunday was to ride. We started out at 8a.n. bundled up like an eskimo. Headed east towards Kinston, Stopped and got breakfast, Headed south on 58 and went over the bridge and rode the coast most of the day. Had lunch at The Queen Ann's Revenge resturaunt in Beaufort. 341.7 miles of awesome weather and riding with a 3 other great friends. What a day.

Guess the old girl needs a new battery, if she sets for a little while it takes a bit to get it started. It will click a couple times before turning over, cut it off after its been running awhile and it will fire right back up.

Larry, before you replace the battery check the connections. Symptoms described sometimes sounds like a loose cable, if they are, tighten them with a socket not a screwdriver. Just a suggestion.

Threw in a battery and it's still a no go. Guess it was really the starter relay...

I don't know how yours is set up but the VTX has all the front lights run through the Starter button on the bars and if it gets gummed up it will cause that problem.we have to take the switch apart and clean it good and put it back together. Good for another year. Just trying to help a brother out.
