I have what's been termed a "99.25" F350 - she has the 99.5 engine and I suspect based on the build date (01/28/1999) the E99 front end. I've yet to have to do any front end work (knock on wood), so not verified yet.

I'm about to install a spring pack level kit since the addition of air bags to the rear has me looking out of whack, even at minimum inflation. The kit I'm looking at states it fits 99-04 F250/350, but the U-bolts look rounder than what I have. Per the E99 v 99.5 differences list ("The early99 front axle U bolts are square where they go over the spring pack. The late99 U bolts are round."), this makes sense.

Can I just replace the spacer/bushing with a 99.5+ part then use the kit, or is it not quite that plug-and-play?

Jim, you can just buy square u-bolts or you can buy the late 99 shock/u-bolt mount that rides on the leaf spring. If you have any questions give me a call, I just swapped out my D50 E99 front end for a 03 D60.

Yes, just get the late shock mount and u-bolts.

No you can get them from 99.5 to 2004 and they should be the same.
