Athina Onassis (granddaughter of Aristotle Onassis) just turned 18. Her birthday present? 2.4 BILLION dollars.
Not to worry though, if she blows it all she gets another 2.6 BILLION when she turns 21.
Personally I'd wait till I was 21 and spend the whole shootin' match on one thing. LAND. Demand keeps going up and they haven't made any more for about 4 billion years now. I'd buy every square inch of southwestern Alberta, along with select parts of Saskatchewan (the sand hills, Last Mountain Lake, and a few lakes up north to fly into for a little fishing). My only neighbors would be national parks.
I'd likely never see a dime in profit, but I'd enjoy the heck out of it. You can bet that by the time my grandkids and their kids rolled around, well, they'd be REALLY RICH.
Ahh, dare to dream.
What would everyone else do with their billions?

I wouldn't be writing this post. Nothing against anyone here, but with that type of money, I wouldn't be spending any time on the computer every again.
As for the buying of southwest Alberta, you would have to beat me to a good chunk of it, (originally from Magrath, AB, 20 miles south of Lethbridge).
Build a nice shop and start restoring classic cars for my collection that I would be starting.
I would have all the toys, (4-wheelers, Jet ski's, snowmobile, etc) and spare toys for the family and friends.
All in all, have a good time. 2.4 billion dollors, and only a lifetime to spend it. Heck with the kids inheritance.

I'd go to Tim Horton's.....Then once the shaking stopped,I would be off to buy a brand new laptop with satelite feed to keep up with FTE.
Then I would travel all over the planet looking for FTE users to visit with.
Then I would head back to Tim Horton's,just before heading to Atlanta to pick up Ken & Peggy in my personal Learjet and take them on a well deserved vacation at a destination of their choice.
On the way we could stop off at a Krispee Kreme (Donut,Doughnut Shop) and a Tim Horton's.

I would pay about half of Merritt Island, Florida to move out (the part on south tropical trail), I'd buy me a new Super Duty and Lift it sky high, then I'd build me a house right on the river of my newly acquired land, and tear down the rest to let trees grow. Then I'd buy a boat and spend most of my life fishing

Uh Dennis -
I think you meant to say Ken, Peggy, AND DAVID didn't you?!?!?!
As for me - I don't think I would tell a sole. Change my name and dissappear for a while. But I do know there would be one helluva party going on somewhere.....

I'd buy a big house on the bayside of the Outer Banks with a HUGE boat slip with a garage to build and stash my 40 foot homemade cigarette boat, I'd buy a 65 ft sailboat to sail around the world in, and I'd also need a rather large garage for all my fancy old sportscars, so I could fly from south Nags Head down to Hattaras at lighting speed when the surfs up!
