Elec Fan Mounting Advice (1954 F100)

I'm mounting two 12" elec fans to my Alum Rad, I'm not sure of the best medthod of mounting ? Zip ties though the core (zip tie kit furnished with the fans, shown in below pic) or should I build some sort of bracket to mount off the sides of the rad ?
pics below to show what I'm working with.

Fan Mount

When I did mine I built a bracket that supported the fan(I only had one) I have never regretted it.

Aluminum is too soft. The Zip ties will ruin your radiator in a short time. Build a bracket!

Mike

look at my home page 'bout 1/2 way down you'll see a pic of mine... similar alum radiator but with a 16" spall fan. aluminum cross bars that the fan mounts too and the a/c condenser is the same on the other side..

I don't care for the zip tie mounts... kinda cheesy to me

I have other pics if you need them

I have mounted the fan to my radiator both ways. When I removed the fan and the zip ties, my brass core was very deformed, tho not leaking.

When I ran a full shroud, the setup worked fine for stop and go traffic, but ran hot on the freeway because my shroud blocked too much ram air.

I vote for a bracket that doesn't block much air, or a shroud with flapper doors that the ram air can blow open so you get the best of both worlds.

I have found that the fan can be 1/4" gap to the core face with minimal loss of efficiency.

If there is an out of town tour I probably would be staying this time around. So it could work out provided your still there. Whats this about NC?

Just feeling things out right now.. nothing set in stone yet..
some things have changed a bit in my life since we've talked last.

as far as out of town.. I don't think anytime soon, they have most everything on hold up here now, not much we're able to work on.
