Hi tennykimble. Welcome to FTE.

Offsets on the rim (or backspacing) varies depending on what year truck you are looking at.

2004 and older Super Duty trucks had a leaf spring front suspension which required the wheel to be moved away from the truck. 2005+ trucks have a coil spring front suspension, which required the wheel to be moved more towards the truck.

I can't say if the vans are the same.

At some point, I think maybe in '99, Ford went to metric lug spacing also. Most of the trailers that I've seen use the older SAE lug spacing.

I think your best bet would be to take the trailer or at least 1 of the hubs to a tire shop, they can tell you what the pattern is.

A good tire shop can also let yo know what offset you need for the trailer axle.

Good idea, using SD rims. That way you can use the spare for either truck or trailer.
