2009 F250 5.4L Towing Question (Urgent)
#31
It's an 09 F250 Lariat+ 4x4 SuperCrew, posted a few pics when I first got it home. (Reference quoted post below). I've taken the little Jensen UMPC outta there, my Ipad 3G is supposed to be here on Friday, going to mount that ******* on the center dash. Can't wait.
It's still bone stock except an SCT custom tune from Mike @ 5StarTuning (which is freakin awesome by the way).
Bought a 2009 F-250 SD Lariat last month, never got around to taking any pics. Just finished mounting my mobile pc and new radar gizmo and figured I'd snap a few pics. Really happy with the mobile PC, plays videos and mp3s, has gps and has a fantastic mapping software with some neat gizmos (GPS Speedometer, etc) and has an integrated FM Tuner so you can listen to the nav instructions/movies/music on the car stereo really easy. Used a GGI friction mount and the recessed center console on the truck allowed for a very nice clean, OEM-looking install. Ignore the dirt, snowed 8 inches yesterday, now its all melting today so its all sloppy outside. Plus Mt. Redoubt erupted so it'll be covered in volcanic ash soon

Very high tech velcro
Just used some velcro with adhesive attached on the back that you can get from any local hardware store. Keeps it on there nice and secure and the velcro strips can be removed without leaving residue. I think the windshield suction cup mounts for GPS look bad. You can mount it nicely underneath the rear view mirror if you can hide the wiring, but if you can't it looks like garbage.
Honestly, Cobra is a pretty crappy radar company. It detects *EVERYTHING*. You get tons of false alarms from door sensors and everything (e.g. I always get an X-Band alert when driving past Lowes - Coming from thier huge doors at the hardware section end of the store). Only reason I bought that one was because it had a nice OLED color screen which I had never seen before. It's pretty much just there for looks.

Have you tried friction mounts? You can get them in virtually and size and put them wherever you want on your dash. I've used several from GGI and they work great. That UMPC in the pics from my older post is held in place with a friction mount and that sucker was heavy. (7" screen)
