Starter/solenoid change - 302

I'm not familiar with early Ford 302 starter/solenoid connections. I've just purchased one & it has the solenoid remote from the starter. I'd like to put in a hi torque mini starter with the solenoid attached & wonder if I need to change any connections?

I can't believe 58 reads & no replies! Guess I'm thought of as a novice & ignored. Sorry!

What I do sometimes is look on the Summit Racing Catalog site for the part that I have and look it up. Most of the time the have the instructions that you can print up,you need to get Adobe set up on your computer and it only takes a few minutes to do.I have a high torque starter on my Firebird and theres just the big hot wire going to it,I`m using a Ford relay switch on the firewall with a pushbutton on the dash.

well basicly with the starter that has the solenoid on it the large main feed wire is constant hot and the small wire(activator) is keyed hot, with old school seperate solenoid/starter unit the main hot to starter is turned on by the keyed hot. So basicly you should just have to take the main hot from the keyed hot side of old solenoid, move it to the battery side so its constant hot, or put newer style junction in for safety purposes and then take the wire that activated your older style solenoid from keyswitch and use it as activator wire on new starter with solenoid.
