according to my local parts person are engineering numbers and they couldn't do anything with them.
In post #12, I listed the spindle PART numbers and their corresponding ID engineering numbers.

C8TA-3107-C & C9TA-3107-A are the ID engineering numbers for: C8TZ3105D .. Right Spindle.

C8TA-3108-C & C9TA-3107-A are the ID engineering numbers for C8TZ3106D .. Left Spindle

Your F250 with its 12" x 2 1/2" drum brakes has these spindles on it. These same spindles were used with disc brakes on 1968/70 & some 1971 F250's.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And, btw:

D2TZ2B301A (replaced C8TZ2B301A & D3TZ2B301A) .. Support Assy., Brake Caliper.

Is your local parts person a Ford partsman? If so...why don't you ask why he didn't look in his O-S-I (Obsolete-Supercede-Interchange) Catalog to find this out.

As I said in Post #14, Ford replaces 10's or 1000's of parts numbers every year. If you don't have the O-S-I catalogs used to verify part numbers, you are SOL!

EVERY fracatta Ford part number I typed here on FTE (over 20,000!), I first had to verify using the O-S-I catalogs to see if the part number had been changed.

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has C8TZ2B301A or D3TZ2B301A.

Three Ford Dealers have 4 of D2TZ2B301A (2 in MS, 1 in NY, 1 in PA). One obsolete parts vendor (in NC) has 1.

Since D2TZ2B301A is obsolete, the dealers are STUCK with it, as it can no longer be returned to Ford.

This means you may be able to buy them at the original MSRP, or at dealer cost. Both prices will be faaar less than $125.00 each!

How does one obtain the numbers to these parts houses to try and obtain the parts?
I'm more than willing to call and talk to them unless you have a better idea.

In rereading your last post Can I understand that the parts that attach to D2TZ2B301A may also fall in the obsulete catagory? I will have to locate the calipers, Rotors,Flex lines, and bearings and seals for each side as well. The local Ford Dealership pleads that they don't have the books to look this information any more. I will ask about the OSI Catalog tomorrow and see if they are willing to help in the search.

All the related disc brake parts (and just about everything else for a truck of this vintage) are obsolete.

Partsguy's at dealers do not want mess with old parts. Most have ZERO interest in old vehicles and know nothing about them.

It's is a time consuming process to look up the parts, verify the part numbers (most do not), search for the parts if obsolete (most will not), and...

They won't make a cent, because the parts are obsolete, so they cannot be ordered. This is nothing new, it's been like this for over 40 years, I kid you not.

I can look up everything, verify the numbers, then type them, give you the sources who have them.

The 1964/72 FORD TRUCK PARTS CATALOG is available on a CD from hipoparts.com for 22 bucks.

Get up off it, and get one!
EVERYONE that owns old rolling piles of misery should have the apropos parts catalog.

You cannot depend on Ford dealers, because they don't give a scheiss. I'm 65, so I won't be around forever.

This parts catalog has 4,849 pages of text and 1,961 pages of illustrations, so you'll never lack for a picture of something.

Need to say thanks to Bill for his info and help in this matter. I went to all locations that he had given. NY and PA had the parts and I was able to get the one for $35.00 plus shipping and the other for $50.00 and that included shipping. The next acquisition will be the parts book for $22.00. Will have to wait till I complete the next aircraft interior. The folks in MS couldn't find the parts so it was good to have the option of the other two.

From the sources I listed, you bought and paid less than 100 bucks for two of them, and they're brand new.

With the help from 4tl8 I went a little further and found out that using the info given from his suggested sites that I could use parts from 73 F-250 brakes and have the local parts store lining up what is needed. There are firms out there that if you send them your spindles for the meer financial consideration of $1,500.00 they will build the brake system; all you need to do is put the king pins back in place. For just over $500.00 I will have everything new. I can live with that; well stop with that. Thanks to all.

There were TWO different types of 1973/79 F250 disc brakes.

SINGLE piston caliper & DUAL piston caliper. Some parts interchange, some do not. Make sure you get all the correct matching parts.
