Sad day for a 68 F100
I know you guys are not going to like to here this, but I went down yesterday to put some money down on a 70 model F100 I bought for the motor and trans. It's a 390 truck with a C6 trans. I'm going to do a motor and trans swap in the 79 F100 I have. Anyway the guy had a 68 F100 short wheel base on a roll back he had there. The truck has a 302 and a C6 trans also. The truck is complete and would make a great truck to rebuild. The guys sales wrecked cars that can be rebuilt and also restores trucks and cars for people. But the 68 F100 is going to the scrap yard or crusher if you will in 2 days. I was sick to my stomach. I asked "WHY" would you do that b/c thats a great truck to rebuild. He said the county is getting on him and he has to move some stuff. Anyway $200 bucks would buy the truck he said. I just don't have the room or any place to put it or I would save the truck. I do have pics of the truck on my phone but I'm going to take some more on a camara so I can send them to people if they want to see it. The truck has all the rocker chrome on it and good tailgate chrome to. I just can't believe someone would scrap a truck in this condition. The truck doesn't have a title either, if someone would want a GREAT parts truck for one there building then you couldn't go wrong. I live in KY so if any of you guys would be interested I'll be checking back on this site today. The truck only has 2 days then it's gone. I'm trying to save it so I figured this is a good place to start.
