For what it is worth, I am starting a new build thread.
Including doing some work on a 1996 FSB
Modifying a 100.00 trailer
and documenting the building of our 24 foot outrigger canoe.

 

The first thing to go was the OEM stereo.
Today I mocked up the location of a new "girlfriend seat"





I removed the old center console to make room for a jump seat from a 2008 Superduty.
I had to remove the front OEM mounting tabs to allow the seat to sit in its proper location.
The seat fits perfectly around the Broncoʻs transmission hump.

 

that is awesome! on so many levels!

 

The Ebay purchased seat was 99.99 and the shipping to my location was almost 3 times the price. 245.00 ouch.
The jump seat did come with an OEM seat belt.

I really like the fold down aspect of the new seat.
Cup holders and compartment.

The seat will be through bolted down with grade 8 bolts after the new vinyl flooring is set in place.

I just dont understand the thought behind the jumper seat?

 

We were looking to buy a new "to us" truck that would seat 6 people.
Upon looking at open back trucks, we decided to upgrade and outfit our
already owned Bronco.
The enclosed cab suits our need to secure our equipment. (paddles, rigging, etc.)
This truck will be used to trailer our 4 person outrigger canoe, now the
whole crew "family of 6" can ride in(SIDE) the Bronco.

This new seat offers way more utility than the OEM center console. (now my wife can sit next to me, as she does in our F150)

You are welcomed to follow the entire build if you like.

 

I definitely would like to follow it. And now I understand the idea of it. I'm just partial to having the captains seats and the consoles myself.

 

The short wheel base of the FSB is great for towing the canoe (canoe and trailer = 28 feet) in tight beach locations.
I can pretty much park the entire rig in a parking lot filled with cars.

 

Update: Yesterday afternoon (4/28) we dropped off the Bronco at the shop that is going to do the engine replacement, we are getting a remanned engine
from our local Ford dealer.

The transmission shop that is going to rebuild the E4OD is right across the street from the shop doing to engine replacement. Howʻs that for ease.

Iʻll try to get some pictures before the new engine goes in.

Yeah, that middle seat really could be a great addition when you travel with friends.

 

Here is the canoe dolly ready for surface prep and paint.
The wheels were Craigslist freebies, now I just have to prep and paint them.
The brand new hubs and spindles did set me back 127.00.

 

Dang! Don't you guys have any aluminum down there? That dolly must weigh a ton! Aluminum also wouldn't rust since you're at the ocean all the time. How much will the canoe weigh?
