Show me some '48 F-1 Pics!!

Especially ones with custom wheels & lowered! I'm going to build one for my wife, as in my other thread. Need to show her pics for ideas and inspiration. And also others with the same body as a '48, I'm a virgin to these trucks, so I don't know how many years they carried that body style, I know the main difference in newer trucks was the grille and fenders.

Any pics of them with later style beds? 50's, 60's, even 70's, 80's 90's stepside beds? I have no bed to start with, so I'll have to take whatever I can get my hands on. Local junk yard has a LOT of 70's to 90's Ford trucks.

thanks,
Josh

Hi Josh,

There's lots of folks here who will share pictures, but in the mean time you can look at pictures of 48 to 50 trucks. They are so similar that they are pretty much indestinguishable except to folks really in the know (little red stipes on the one years grill not on the next, etc)

I'd look on e-bay as folks usually post good pictures and youget from rods to barn fodder.

Here's 2 links to E-bays 48-50s for sale:

eBay - rod: 1948-1952 Ford F-100

Ford : F-1 Model 8HC 1/2 Ton : eBay Motors (item 290425534638 end time May-06-10 13:21:25 PDT)

Also, here's a link tothe FTE photo collection:

1948 Ford 1, 1948 Ford F2, 1948 Ford F3 Pictures

I put a 51 bed on mine because I did not have any rear fenders for a 48 F1. I have some F3 fenders but they are different. I used Early wheel smooth center wheels to get a kinda old stock look. I did not lower it because I prefer original ride height.

Do you have a profile picture from that same side of the cab? I'm trying to do a sketch of what I have pictured for this truck.
