Thank you for all the information. Being that this was a special order, is there a way to determine the original color?

When there is no COLOR code, there is no info available from Ford any longer (prior to 1967) inre to what special order non standard color it was painted, who purchased the vehicle or what dealer sold it.

If the vehicle has been repainted, and you want to know what the original color was, look under the seat.

Most ppl never repaint this area, so the paint is the original.

WHen I was much younger, I repainted our 63 - took out the seat & did the whole interior too (the interior still looks sharp, too, despite the chalky exterior...). When disassembling my truck this time around, I found the original olive drab on the cowl area that's covered by the fenders - under some undercoating that was falling off. If your truck hasn't been pulled apart to paint, then you just might try looking there. To be honest it was so tough to pull apart that I wouldn't do it unless I had to! --Paul

BODY code (E81) edited into post #8.

A truck assembled in CA would not have been sold in MA.

Use either 71 Los Angeles (SoCal) or 72 San Jose (NorCal) for the DSO code.

Date Plate Decode

Hello, I have a 1966 F100 long bed that now has a 289 and is painted Wimbleton White. I believe it originally had a 6 in it and was painted pale yellow. I could use some help deciphering the date plate:

F10AC877869

128 8M F101 D81 C 09

C4200 129 4000 21

I hope I transferred them properly......any help will be greatly appreciated.

Where it says 129 net hp for my long bed I think that is the wheel base and 172 is the net hp for the 352.
