If you're going to do electrical work, you absolutely need a multimeter. What you're doing is called "throwing parts at it" and is a waste of time and money. Use the right tools to diagnose the problem, and get it right the first time. A lot of people replace parts because "they're old anyway" or "it'll go bad eventually," those same people have more money in their truck than it's worth.
When you say "wouldn't start," does that mean it turns over but doesn't fire, or doesn't even turn over? Or turns over slowly?

You'll learn someday (16 and know it all), if you knew the answer, why'd you ask for opinions on here. The guys on here are here to help and give suggestions! Charging systems can get complicated, therefore if you use a multimete you can figure things out alot easier most times, hence not having to replace the alternator you changed out!

How much was it? Usually all they do is mix some Epsom Salt mixture and charge the battery and "hope" it holds.
Another thing, is it takes the battery 3-4 cycles to even "think" of keeping a charge (if it even does)
Just trying to help. A refurb was what? $20? A new-low budget battery would have been maybe $40? A good battery around $60.

"i wont have any carb, fuel questions anymore.. i already solved all my problems in that area and rebuilt my carb"
guess you'll never have to ask for any advice again. you know everything now.
someday you'll thank the guys on here for their words of wisdom, they are only here to help fellow ford enthusiasts!
