Noisy Injectors...

1998 Expedition, 5.4, 133k miles...

Yeah, I know the injector tick is normal operating noise for this system but I'm wondering if theres a way or an aftermarket product/replacement that will silence that annoying tick. Its not horrible but it sure would be nice if I didn't have to hear it.

So, has there been any advancements with this tick, tick, tick that we have to deal with?

If your's are original then they're 12 years old and worn. The only solution is to replace them.

I'm glad someone else suggested replacing them. I had considered it but didn't know if I should. Would you recommend OEM or some other brand?

I would go with the ACCEL 150821 injectors shown on the Summit Racing page at the link below. You would first need to verify that your stock injectors are 21 lbs. They should have a part number on them that can be looked up for verification.

You rock. Thanks for the help and advice. I might do that at some point in the future... probably change the plugs and cops at the same time. Hm.

Get the set of COPs off eBay. The set of 8 will cost you about $86 as opposed to $60 each at an auto parts store.

Just out of curiosity, and feel free to tell me "not even if my life depended on it"... Would you purchase/use remanufactured Bosch (or other brand) injectors that are on eBay? I suspect you would have told me to go buy a set on ebay if they were quality vs Summit but I just want to make sure.

Not even if my life depended on it!
All they do is clean them, they're still worn.
