Hello all , my name is Darrin . I live on the west side,went to school on the coast. I drive a 92 f250 4x4 , wife drives a 05 gt convertable stang. I found this forum while searching for answers on a swap im going to do . im pulling the 460 out and putting a 6.9 in , any help would be greatly appreciated. have a great sunday FTE.
Nice to meet you Darrin. What part of the coast? Spent a little time over there myself, untill the rust took over,been trying to heal up eversince. My wife also spent her formative years on the coast. OBCB-Jeff
Welcome!.......why are you pulling the 460?........It will run circles around that 6.9!...Still it sounds like a interesting project.

thanks for all the warm welcomes , glad to find a forum with so many local peoples . I have decided not to do the swap . going to sell the 87 2wd 6.9 ext cab 4speed f250 , put it on craigslist yesterday. will use the money from that to fix the tranny in the 92 4x4 .
One thing is for sure... without a turbo on that 6.9 the 460 will out run the hell out of it.... you just won't get the mileage out of the 460 that the diesel gets.

I am getting excellent millage from the 6.9 , but am just going to try and fix the E4od in the 92 . much nicer ride . so the 87 2wd 6.9 4 speed ext cab lariat is for sale . 503-881-8861 Darrin Best Offer just got brand new title in my name , brand new dual 1000 cca batteries brand new starter new fuel oil and air filters needs window motors and emergency brake fixed it wont lock in place.
