Question Drum to Disc brake conversion using Explorer disc brakes

I am interest in converting the rear drum brakes to disc brakes on my '82 F150 with a 9" inch rear.

I have heard that it is possible to use the rear disc brake set up from a Ford Explorer.

Has anyone done this or aware of this and what is involved?

Thank You in advance.

Hey there, I have 9" too in my truck and considering converting to disc brakes. Is there is a specific year in the explorer that I need to pull the disc brakes out of. And will it be a simple pull out and install or do I need to make any changes to the axle. Thank you in advance.

Cheers!

Hey, did you end doing the conversion? If yes, can you tell me more about if you ran into any issues or challenges?

Cheers!
