VC-9 vs. Coolant filter

Will VC-9 bother the coolant bypass filter? Or should I shut the valves off during a flush?

I believe it would be prudent to flush the filter lines at least.

I would leave the valve open during the vc-9 flush and all other clear water flushes afterward. Then before putting in fresh coolant install a new filter.

I would close off the filter while flushing with the VC-9. Do not really know what it might do to the filter media would hate to have it find its way to the EGR and Oil Coolers. JMO

As expensive as the VC9 is, it just might have an issue. Glad it took longer to do another project today to catch your message! Will be doing coolant flush tomorrow.

Good point! I would hate to think however since it's job is to filter cr** that that would happen. Better safe than sorry. Now that I think about it, I don't remember if I left mine open or closed when flushing. Dam, getting old is a bi***!
