Confused EGR & Oil Cooler

Confused EGR & Oil Cooler
<style></style>Ok I'm a little confused. My EOT is reading about 10 to 15 degrees hotter than my ECT. So I know the fuse is lit and I'm on borrowed time.I want to do an EGR Delete and rebuild the oil cooler. Now if I do the EGR Delete how does the oil cooler work. What keeps the oil cool??? Is there anything else I must do??? I know I need a oil cooler rebuild kit (3C3Z-6A642-CA) HPOP Filter Screen (3C3Z-6C683-AB) I am thinking about the Sinister EGR Delete Kit (SD-EGRD01) Is there anything else I will need besides 15 Qts Oil; Oil Filter; 2 Iron Cleaner ZC-9; 3 Gal. of Premiun Gold Engine Coolant or GO-5 Antifreeze & 15 gal.Distilled Water. Thanks Rocky

An intake gasket kit might not me a bad Idea... especially the large donut o-ring in between the intake and coolant manifold. unfortunately the large donut oring only comes in the intake gasket kit...
The oil cooler and egr cooler are plumbed in series if you delete the egr cooler the oil cooler will still function normally... part of the egr cooler delete kit is a bypass pipe to hook up the coolant so it still flows normally

If your Insight is showing 15 degrees or less of eot/ect difference you are within the Ford specification. Now, I am not one to ever discourage oil cooler maintenance(read that replacement) when in doubt. I pulled my 12000# fiver the other day when the outside temperature was in the low 80's. My eot/ect spread did get to 13 degrees. This is with a new engine with a new oil cooler. I am going to keep an eye on it. Because you are tearing into it anyway, I would still do the oil cooler. Only an extra 2 hours on an already PITA job

You'll want new O-rings and gasket for the turbo oil line reinstall and there is an updated drain pipe on the bottom of the turbo if you don't already have it. You might want to fix the crankcase ventilation while you're in there. Since you have to pull the turbo it is a good time to put in a new larger exhaust. You did say you have a money tree growing in your yard?

That's what I am thinking. So I might as well do the EGR Delete while I'm in there..Believe me I am not looking to spend money I don't have. I'm a believer if it's not broke don't fix it. I new this day would come but I didn't need it right not..Now I'll just locate all the parts I will need see who has the best prices and do some research on how to do it..lol Well I already reconditioned the turbo (Thanks to Mark) I'm sure when I have all the parts I will be calling for some support..Thanks Guys....Rocky

I already have a coolant filter installed. I just changed the filter about 2 weeks ago. I did a coolant flush about 4,000 miles ago. You think it needs be flushed again..
