You talking about using the front axle output as the input? And the input as the front drive shaft output?

It would work, but could only use it in 4 high. it you tried 4-low it would only put gear reduction to the front axle causing some mega binding and breakage.

Wait a second. What am I missing here?
Rotate the driver side output down. The input and rear output are lined up, basically the same shaft straight through.
So why cant you re-index the front to meet your application? The front shaft will be lower than the rear if you re-index that far, and you simply bolt up some shafts.

Ive installed Rocks in this era truck without re-indexing the (married) case at all.

Thats even easier. The driveshaft angles are even better. Though the rear one is a little short, you can move the entire case forward, or drop the case down a little.
Again, this is a piece of cake.
You can run these on their side if you want to. They lube rather well. Once in a while you may find some starvation for the front output bearing, but this is easy to fix with a drill by making a new hole in the case, and rotating the bearing retainer. Only 4 bolts, but this is an extreme case.
Most off road vehicles will splash enough oil and will be off camber enough to lube everything up.
Your not taking 500 plus mile trips right?
