Automatic Tranny Manuals

Greetings,

I was just wondering if anyone in the Niagara or Southern Ontario area knows where I can get a service manual for overhauling the automatic A4LD and the 5R55e trannies? I am going to repair my old A4LD, and would like to get a manual on it.

Thanks,

Hoppy

What is an A4LD? What year were they made?
Just curious.
Library is probably a good place to start. Check your local book stores and auto swap meets.
Goodluck!

I beleive that Ford started using the A4LD back in 1985 and tweaked it by building it a bit stronger for the 4.0 back in 89. It is a 4 speed overdrive transmission with lock-up torque convertor.

HOPPY - Thanks for the information - I didn't realize that it was a newer transmission. You learn something new everyday!
Try Canadian Tire - look for the Haynes Techbook Series - they should have ( I would think) a book for your tranny.
Cheers!
