Why can't Ford make some kind of high-performance Ranger straight from the factory? I think Ford needs to do something with that like they did with the SVT Lightning from the F-150. Now that Ranger sales are going down, that could be one way to bring them back up by introducing them to the younger generation. What do yall thing bout this?
I think I saw an article somewhere that had an SVT ranger. I think it was a ranger stuffed with a lightning engine, but I'm sure that won't make production.
How about the 3v 4.6 300 HP Mustang GT motor. I think that would make a Ranger scoot. Problem is that SVT isn't wasting their time on low profit vehicles, whcih is why they discontinued the Focus SVT.
I saw that ranger a year or so back on speed channel, that was a sweet rangr but it would never make production because the engine took to much interior spce etc. The Dakotas came factory with the 318 so stuffing the 360 in was no problem for dodge.
i saw that ford ranger to its called a lightning bolt i was reading another review where the pulled up to a new vette and when the light went green it was 2 car lengths behind it. here it is http://www.pickuptruck.com/html/stor...olt/page1.html
I have heard that ford is currently toying with the idea of dropping a 5.0 straight out of the factory like they used to put in the 80's models. They were supposedly doing it up like the lightning. But recently I haven't seen anything, the last i heard they were testing it and were looking to implement it in the next few years, just a concept right now. But the last i heard they were waiting for the green light to produce.
