engine rebuild

My name is Jimmy

I have a 1973 F-100. Have been looking far rebuilt 360 engine. Mine has been rebuild once before. I m thinking of putting a 351 W in it. What do I have to change in order to use the 351, and is it worth it?

#1 Motor mounts #2 different Bell housing since your going from a Big block to a small block possible longer or shorter DS but hopefully you won't have to. If you do go with a 351W make sure your exaust doesn't interfear with your steering on the drivers side. Make sure you have all your brackets for the 351 since your old brackets won't work unless you do some mods to them. Don't forget to make sure your exaust will bolt up your exaust manifold on the 351 if it doesn't you'll need to put new on.

Ask away, if the guys on this forum can't answer it then the problem doesn't exist. You will want to ask using your own thread instead of adding to this one that is dated from 2014?

Would be more than happy if I can help. I sold my 74 F100 4x4,390 6 years ago, now have a 2001 F250sd, V10, 4x4 4door 6.5 ft bed and still madly in love with it. It's like driving a beamer but with far more fuel.
