alternator harness question and switching to 3G alternator

Hey guys. i'm looking at switching to a 3G alternator, but i had a couple questions first. to start off my harness is a '92 5.0 harness. the alternator harness on it seems to have failed at some point and the previous owner cut and spliced 2 new wires into the alt. harness where it attaches to the starter solenoid. Shouldn't this have a fusable link on it???

If i switch to a 3G will the 2 wires that attach to the starter solenoid be replaced with the 3G harness??? Does anyone have pics of their alternator harness where it attaches to the solenoid? i will be switching to the 3G, but i'm just not completely sure what all i'm going to be changing out when i do it. it looks like i'm just going to be replacing the plugs to the alternator and where it plugs into that one plug in the middle of the alternator harness. So that would still leave me needing to figure out what to do with the starter solenoid side of the alt. harness. any help is appreciated!!!

Try this website:

95A 3G Alternator for 87-93 Fox Body Mustangs.

And take a look at this webpage:

I did this PA conversion on my 92 about five years ago. Good alternator output and it was an easy install. And PA has good customer service and support.
